The aim of the Club is to screen at regular intervals a varied programme of films and videos, exploring the art of the greatest film directors, producers, actors, film composers and cameramen of the 20th and 21st centuries.
We aim to screen two movies each month.
Screening is usually on Sundays at 3pm but other days and times are also being considered.

Angus Haywood
Photographer, Former Airline Pilot, Film enthusiast and Club technical delivery.
Likes to encourage a few hours of full immersion in the decades of quality British, European and World films that we are able to project. To keep alive the vision and craft of past directors and actors who went through all the labour of creating ‘something out of nothing’ for us.
Richard Dunkely
Richard became obsessed with films from’ Friday Cinema Night’ with his family as a boy, and ‘The French New Wave’ as a teenager while doing an apprenticeship in an advertising agency. In his 20’s he graduated from The London Film School, and as he puts it, “was hijacked into photography” which led to an ongoing lifetime career.
Richard hopes that Great Takes can continue to screen the best of cinema from all over the world.

John Bradshaw
Serious amateur photographer. While at Medical school in Dublin in the 1960’s, a special cinema showing only the greatest World Films was opened nearby and I was dazzled by its showings. Then in the 70’s, when I was doing further specialist training in Medical Imaging in Cardiff, I discovered that city also had a similar Cinema, so I was able to expand my “GreaTTakes ” exposure.
